Trip to Mandarmoni

Pic: A Crab drinking water
Last weekend was a long one. Hence, we decided to take a trip to much heard about place called 'Mandarmoni' , a beach located around 190kms from Kolkata.

The reason i thought of writing about it is that it's a real long time i have enjoyed a beach. The things that appeals most about this place is the 'unadulterated' peace it offers. The beach is still a new one , it can be said , in the sense that it is not so crowded.....lots of water, and no beach side shops!!!! Such peace!!! No body bugging you to buy this or that. Not much to do besides dip into the water and feel liberated!!! Feels like heaven :-)
So all in all , a soul fulfilling trip......definitely want to go there again,if a chance arises.

Taking control of life

When in 1903 a young poet considering entering the Germany military, asked well-known German poet Rainer Maria Rilke for his views on his work, the senior poet replied in 10 letters. This correspondence that lasted over five years was later published as Letters to a Young Poet. Rilke says, " No one can advise or help you - no one. There is only one thing you should do. Go into yourself. Find out the reason that commands you to write; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depths of your heart; confess to yourself whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. This most of all: Ask yourself in the most silent hour of the night: Must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if the answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple "I must." then build your life in accordance with this necessity; your whole life, even into it's humblest and most indifferent hour, must become a sign and witness to this impulse."

And this holds true not just for writing, but for every passion that you may burn with, every silent yearning that resides within you. If it is the thing your heart beats for, then give it your all by taking control of your life and knocking off all the excess clutter.

On a spiritual spree....

Those who know me , know that I like to read. I read any stuff which catches my interest and most of the things other than cricket and indian politics.

The latest thing of interest is 'The Bhagwat Gita'. I have come to that after reading through a lot many self-help books and the likes. There are books by Robin Sharma, CWG by Neil Donald Walsch, Brian Weiss, The Autobiography of a Yogi to name a few. All of them were beautifully written and a great addition to my knowledge base. However, The Bhagwad Gita is the ultimate culmination. Everything which has been said or can be said about life is in it.

The inspiration came mostly from my elder Bro but according to him and all the writings one doesn't get interested in something until the time is right for them. That is , whatever happens is mostly pre-decided and we are just playing our part in a scripted world. This slang 'The world is a stage and we are all actors in it's play' is old but true. I am finding most of the adages were written not just accidently , they were written after appropriate and deep thinking .

I have read things about the subconcious , superconcious, souls, soul-awakening and learnings of the present life and all sorts of things. Despite that, a part of me is in denial while i know most of the things which are from people's experiences can't be untrue.

Not that while reading about all that i have given up on life and it's worthiness.....I am just seeking a deal with maximum gains. They say, With all it's imperfections life is perfect.

I hope 'The Gita' guides my abberated mind to a state of peace and my life on a path of salvation.
